Jayne Griffiths MBE, our SW & Mid Wales ‘Flower Arranging’ tutor has recently had a very busy time sharing her talented florist skills with various community groups. During February Jayne delivered courses at both Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre and Adult Learning Wales’ very own Port Talbot Learning Hub. The ladies who attended the sessions were thoroughly engaged with Jayne’s tuition and they were absolutely thrilled with their newly acquired flower arranging skills. Much to their delight they were able to take their beautiful creations home with them and they all said they would love to return to attend more flower arranging courses.
As well as learning new skills many of them gave feedback on how the courses had a positive impact on their mental health and wellbeing:
“It got me out of the house, meeting new people and learning a new skill. Very enjoyable-I would like to do more!”
“An uplifting and excellent course!”
“Great tuition”
Jayne’s courses are still in demand for March, and she will be continuing her travels to deliver more flower arranging sessions for both Aberystwyth and Brecon MIND. During one of the sessions the group will even learn how to creatively arrange flowers in a cup and saucer! Jayne thoroughly enjoys teaching different groups and commented:
“It is a pleasure to pass my skills on to other people and to see their enjoyment when they can arrange flowers themselves”
We would like to congratulate our learners for creating such beautiful works!
If you are interested in a free taster session with Jayne where you can learn how to make a ribbon wreath and a buttonhole and corsage, she will be at the Quaker Meeting House in Llandrindod Wells on the 16th and 30th March.
