NPTC Group of Colleges is delighted to announce the ongoing success of the three-week catering classes currently being held at the Noddfa Community Centre in Glyncorrwg as part of the Skills Ranger Project. Participants are gaining invaluable cooking skills by preparing a variety of dishes, culminating in the achievement of a Level 1 Food Hygiene certificate.
Terri Camplin, Centre Manager, reports that the classes have generated significant interest, with numerous participants expressing a desire to continue their culinary journey by pursuing a Level 2 qualification. She stated: “We are thrilled with the response to our catering classes. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by our participants have been remarkable, and we are excited to support those wishing to further their skills.”
These free classes are designed to equip attendees with essential catering skills, focusing on practical techniques and food hygiene. Participants benefit from hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment, guided by experienced instructors who ensure a supportive learning atmosphere.
This initiative not only enhances participants’ culinary skills but also promotes community engagement and personal development. It serves as a platform for individuals to come together, learn, and potentially explore new career opportunities within the catering sector.
Building on the success of similar projects previously conducted by NPTC Group of Colleges in Croeserw and throughout schools in Powys, the Noddfa Community Centre classes demonstrate the commitment to education and skill development throughout the Afan Valley.
